Advice for dating in university?

I will be a freshman in college next year, I was just wondering are there any advices for dating and meeting new people in college. I need to have good grades for grad school, so I won't be able to party 24/7. Should I hold off dating till after first year? any advice would help!

Thanks in advance!Advice for dating in university?
Dating doesnt have to mean partying ;)

Date whenever you want I'd say. When you ask for a girls number in uni, be direct about it, as people are in a rush and have classes to get to.

If you want to date a girl in your specific group, and you see her on a regular basis, take it slow. Build rapport etc, then after a few weeks ask for her number and tell her you should catch up outside class or something/

Small campus vs. Big campus

Small campus: rumors will spread fast. regardless who you talk to of the opposite sex, people will think automatically that you two have ';done stuff';

Big campus: you will get lost in the crowd and it's harder to get noticed, which is actually good because that is rumor control
IMO first 2weeksbe real social when no one knows anybody, that i think is key. college really isn't that hard at all, go to ratemyprofessors.com pick easy people. and major in business, you will be screwed to find a job in most other majors. trust me.
hold off dating no, hold off partying the first year yes because it is easy to fall in the trap of partying and get side tracked...college is all about meeting new people and you should do just that...
Just like high school, but with more mature people. Maybe ;)

Yeah just have casual friends for your first year so you can focus.
