ok, ive liked this guy a lot for a long time and i want to ask him out. i have no problem with the asking out, im just not sure what to do on a first date that would make it a step up from us just hanging out without being awkward

i know what you mean, theres a guy who likes me and i like him back and we have been hangout forever and my bestfriend told him that i want to start dating..but its really weird and award if were just eatting dinner on a date i can just see it now ';.....'; haha...What about boiling? thats fun..but kinda lame right? i was gonna ask my date to a concert but we both like different music!! (he likes death metal and i like punk) so what about the carnival? lots of rides and fun stuff to do?? or maybe go swimming like the beach or something??thats sounds like a good idea to me..
don't worry.. a lot of the long lasting commitments come from a couple who were at first- and still remain- best friends. just be yourself, and if you want you can dress up a bit and show him your good points. if he likes you too then he must love the part of you that he knows. good luck!

i was reading thoes other awnsers1st there crap. so lett me tell u, since u guys have been friends for so long he probully will want to take it a bit slower than you would imagine. he needs to get used to the fact that ur more then friends now. and do what u ushally do with him, but sortaq open up more and stare in his eyes, unless if ur like creeping him out. no guy liks a creeper i think? lol haha good luck

Dinner and a movie. Classic, and not very awkward. You talk during dinner, then go watch a movie, and he gets a chance to show you his romantic side, though he's not socially required to so there's really no pressure. Plus, nowadays girls (are you a girl? Sorry if I just offended you there...) can pay for a movie without looking overbearing. It's chic, it's classy, it's my all-time fave.

Well u could just be urself, dont be nervous, and just have a good time. Talk about ur likes and dislikes, ask him about his. Keep small talk going. U dont want him to think ur boring. And if somthing embarrasin comes up laugh about it, everyone has somthin embarrasing about them selves.

Now for the real dating advice.





First, Dress attractively but comfortably. Don't wear clothes that make you feel stiff or self-conscious.





Second, Compliment your date. Don't just say 'I like your shirt.' Be sincere and notice something that he took time with. (Fixing his hair with alot of jel. LoL)





Third, Learn how to flirt, but don't over do it..





Fourth. Be interested and interesting. Listen actively to what your date says. Ask questions and don't interrupt.





Fifth, Location is really important, since you guys are close friends, going to the cinema to watch a scary movie, or a park is not a bad idea! =)





Listen to my tips and your first date will not be akward..





P.S Talk about stuff as friends (in the beginning)! You don't want him to feel akward going on a date, with his bestfriend! =P
