Having your due date changed?! Reasons? I need advice please!?

I am pregnant with #2. My last period was August 19th, so my expected due date is May 28th, so that'd make me between 8-9 weeks along. I went today for an ultrasound and the tech told me the baby is only measuring 6 weeks along. She said the baby looks great, but they'll move my due date to mid-June. I am to go back in a week for another ultrasound to make sure. How did this happen?! Do you think I ovulated late or something?! Any experiences?!





I'm just shocked because with my son, I knew the date of my last period and he always measured right on.Having your due date changed?! Reasons? I need advice please!?
With an ultrasound the date is based on the development of the fetus this early, and they usually tell you give or take up to 7 days I was told by Yale New Haven Hospital. Besides, things may change again as you get further in to this pregnancy. I was originally measured to be due in mid September with my son at my regular OB, then at 20 weeks (or so I thought) I got shipped to Yale, they came in and said no way was I only 20 weeks... and changed my due date by 2 weeks earlier... besides as I see it... this baby will come when he/she is good and ready!! Just make sure to have things packed an ready to go by what you feel is the correct due date.Having your due date changed?! Reasons? I need advice please!?
My first due date was November 13th.. then my family doctor changed it to November 10th and then my OB changed it to November 18th.


I was never given any reasons for all the changes though.





Sorry this probably didn't help, but you should go by that first ultrasound. It's supposed to be the most accurate.
Everyone I know that had a baby had their due date changed when they had their ulrasound it's completely normal cause you never know when you ovulated for sure. My due date moved with all three of my pregnancies. As long as the baby looks good then I wouldn't worry about it.
My due date has changed twice. It was originally January 13th but they pushed it back 2 weeks because I ovulated late and it was January 27th, then at my 20 week ultrasound it was a day off so they just changed it to January 26th.
You probably ovulated late, or maybe he isn't growing as fast as he should be, but I try not to worry about it.
ultrasounds can be off by two weeks plus you could have ovulated late!! i would not worry too much =)
You probably ovulated late. My due date was pushed back 2 freakin' weeks!!!! We'll see I guess.
sometimes the ultrasound is off. Plus u can get pregnant any day of the month so u could have gotten pregnant anyday!
Its common its so hard to tell when you ovulated and when your period was. I thought I had a period and it was implantation bleeding? WOW I went from a due date of Dec 20th to the end of November. They were off a lot on mine. Its normal not a big deal. I was actually happy that I had an additional 4 weeks under my belt! Unfortunately your the other way. Its not a big deal and your baby could be larger or smaller than what is normal. Not a big deal the baby will come when it does. A due date is just an estimated day when your baby will come. Most are never born on the actual day anyways.
