Just enjoy being with him and feel freee to express your feelings. Just be who you are relax and observe and be sure that he's the man. Other wise you don't need to be nerve. I know you're excited but, YOu need to control yourself and act naturally...

Go with the flow. You've known him forever so you've got tons to talk about. I'm sure he's nervous as well. Talk about your mutual nervousness ;)
calm yourself and don't PANIC, remember you know him very well and you don't need to impress him with anything. Laugh and do the same things you two guys would do. I think you'll be okay.

Just don't get too excited. And I don't know about ';not talking a lot'; because I'm not usually the one talkin'. Really when I have a conversation with my girl I really only care what she's talkin' about.
just relax, get your sexiest outfit out the closet, and be your self if he dont like you just the way you are then you have no use for him!!!
why did it take so long cause ya'll were frinds maybe, just be your self thats why he asked you out.
